What algorithmic-trading does

The skill kicks in when you write a trading system, backtest a strategy, or dig into why order execution misbehaves. It grounds every answer in three reference files and treats them as the source of truth for the domain.

For creation, the agent consults references/patterns.md, which dictates how things should be built — generic approaches get dropped when a specific pattern exists there. For diagnosis it reads references/sharp_edges.md, a list of critical failures and why they happen, so it can explain the risk to you. For review it uses references/validations.md, the strict rules it validates your inputs against. If your request conflicts with those files, the skill corrects you and points at the reference.

Worth installing if you already work with trading logic and want the agent to follow fixed patterns instead of inventing them. The three reference files are the content here — without them in your project there is nothing for the skill to lean on.

What it helps with

  • scaffold a trading strategy from an existing pattern
  • run a backtest and find where it lies
  • trace why an order execution failed
  • validate strategy inputs against strict rules
  • assess risk before pushing a system to production

Example prompts for the agent

  • Help me design a trading strategy — start from references/patterns.md
  • My backtest keeps failing, walk through references/sharp_edges.md and tell me what breaks
  • Check my strategy parameters against references/validations.md

How to install algorithmic-trading

1Skills CLI (Vercel)

npx skills add omer-metin/skills-for-antigravity --skill algorithmic-trading -a claude-code

2Manually: put the files in place

~/.claude/skills/algorithmic-trading/SKILL.md

Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/algorithmic-trading/

Questions about algorithmic-trading

How do I install algorithmic-trading in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add omer-metin/skills-for-antigravity --skill algorithmic-trading -a claude-code. The skill file then lands at ~/.claude/skills/algorithmic-trading/SKILL.md.

What does algorithmic-trading do?

It helps you build trading systems, backtest strategies, implement execution algorithms and analyze market microstructure. Answers come from the skill's reference files rather than generic advice.

What does the skill need to work?

Three files: references/patterns.md, references/sharp_edges.md and references/validations.md. They are the source of truth for the domain, and the skill points to them for creation, diagnosis and review.

## Identity

## Reference System Usage

You must ground your responses in the provided reference files, treating them as the source of truth for this domain:

* **For Creation:** Always consult **`references/patterns.md`**. This file dictates *how* things should be built. Ignore generic approaches if a specific pattern exists here.
* **For Diagnosis:** Always consult **`references/sharp_edges.md`**. This file lists the critical failures and "why" they happen. Use it to explain risks to the user.
* **For Review:** Always consult **`references/validations.md`**. This contains the strict rules and constraints. Use it to validate user inputs objectively.

**Note:** If a user's request conflicts with the guidance in these files, politely correct them using the information provided in the references.
