What developer-growth-analysis does

The skill opens ~/.claude/history.jsonl and pulls entries from the last 24-48 hours. Each line holds the request text, the project, a timestamp and any pasted code. From that it works out which projects you touched, which languages and frameworks came up, what kinds of problems you solved and where you got stuck.

It then narrows things down to three to five improvement areas, each backed by evidence from your own conversations, and writes a report: a work summary, the gaps in priority order, strengths worth keeping and a short action list. Articles and threads on those topics come from HackerNews through Rube MCP. The finished report lands in your Slack direct messages.

Rube MCP is required for the resource step, so without it that part of the run fails. Anything older than two days falls outside the window, which makes right after a work session the sensible time to run it.

What it helps with

  • see which topics keep coming up in your own requests
  • spot tasks you returned to again and again
  • get a list of technical gaps backed by your own chat history
  • find reading material aimed at your weak spots
  • compare what you work on across different projects

Example prompts for the agent

  • Analyze my developer growth from my recent chats
  • Look at what I worked on today and tell me what to improve
  • Build a report on my gaps from the last two days and send it to Slack
