cross-agent-plan · prassanna-ravishankar — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Requests an independent implementation plan from another AI model across the repowire mesh. Useful for validating your technical approach before writing code.
npx skills add prassanna-ravishankar/repowire --skill cross-agent-plan -a claude-codeWhat cross-agent-plan does
This skill delegates draft planning to an external peer connected via the repowire network. Instead of relying on a single engine, your current assistant gathers a fresh perspective from another backend such as Codex or Pi. The tool explicitly rejects using its own engine for this task. It inspects any user-specified backend first, then checks skills.default_planner_backend with repowire config get, and falls back to any active peer with an alternative backend.
Execution relies on MCP tooling. The agent discovers available network nodes using list_peers() and posts task details through ask. A response arrives via ack linked by correlation_id. Full lifecycle tracking requires MCP. Running repowire peer ask in your terminal will not work here, because that CLI helper only handles synchronous tests.
What it helps with
- obtain an alternative implementation strategy from a different engine
- locate active peer agents with
list_peers()orrepowire peer list - dispatch task requirements and constraints via the MCP
askmethod - review and merge external proposals with your primary plan
Example prompts for the agent
- Ask a peer running Codex to draft an implementation plan for the auth refactor.
- Request a step-by-step database migration plan from an active repowire peer.
- Compare the plan returned by the external peer against our current draft.

Questions about cross-agent-plan
How do I install cross-agent-plan in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add prassanna-ravishankar/repowire --skill cross-agent-plan -a claude-code in your terminal. The configuration writes to ~/.claude/skills/cross-agent-plan/SKILL.md.
What does cross-agent-plan do?
It queries an AI running a different backend over the repowire mesh for an implementation outline. This delivers a genuinely separate viewpoint to critique before you begin writing code.
Can I run cross-agent planning through the repowire CLI?
No, the full asynchronous request workflow with correlation tracking requires MCP calls. The command repowire peer ask is strictly a synchronous testing utility.
