create-ideas — Claude Code skill: six ideas in one shot
This skill makes the model return six candidate answers with probabilities: three likely ones and three pulled from the tails of the distribution.
npx skills add NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit --skill create-ideas -a claude-codeWhat create-ideas does
create-ideas changes the shape of a single answer. Instead of one reply, the agent returns a list of six items, each with text and a numeric probability. The first three aim high, above 0.80. The last three deliberately wander: each stays under 0.10 so you see genuinely different directions rather than restatements of the same one.
The skill is a single SKILL.md file holding the instruction. No scripts, no external services — the whole thing rides on prompt wording. The instruction also warns against overlapping answers, so if two of the six read alike, that is a signal to rephrase your request.
Worth installing where you want a spread of options early: naming, architecture forks, copy drafts. On tasks with one correct answer — fixing a specific failing test, say — the format gets in the way, because you still get six lines instead of the fix.
What it helps with
- brainstorm names for a new project
- lay out an architecture fork as several paths
- draft copy in different tones
- pick an approach when the obvious one feels wrong
- widen a list of hypotheses before a discussion
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate ideas for a CLI tool name in Rust
- Give me six options for the auth module structure
- Suggest ideas for rewriting this README

Questions about create-ideas
How do I install create-ideas in Claude?
Run npx skills add NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit --skill create-ideas -a claude-code. The skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/create-ideas/SKILL.md.
What does create-ideas do?
It asks the agent for six candidate answers with probabilities: three high-probability ones and three from distant regions of the solution space. The answers are meant to be non-overlapping.
Which platforms support the skill?
Besides Claude it installs into Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. GitHub Copilot uses a different command: gh skill install NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit create-ideas.
