What competitive-intel-watch does

This skill tracks competitor moves against an earlier research snapshot. Instead of rewriting an entire deck, it captures meaningful shifts: pricing adjustments, packaging revisions, product launches or sunset notices, and key leadership departures. Every logged update requires an explicit date and source link, separating verifiable facts from inferences.

The workflow limits follow-up questions to a budget of two before proposing a three-point search plan across company sites, job boards, and press releases. It produces an explicit changelog and flags stale sections in battle cards, positioning statements, or roadmap documents. If nothing cleared the materiality bar, an empty changelog is reported as a normal result.

Without an existing snapshot, the run reverts to baseline mode to create an initial capture. Diffing an outdated scope after a company pivot causes bad signals, so fresh baselines are mandatory when market boundaries change. Typical runs take 10 to 25 minutes.

What it helps with

  • track competitor pricing and packaging changes over time
  • flag outdated sections in sales battle cards
  • spot competitor product launches and deprecations with proof
  • monitor market moves unattended between planning cycles
