What cnki-advanced-search does

The skill turns a natural-language request into CNKI advanced-search filters. It can target subject, title, or keyword fields, add an author and journal, set a date range, and limit results to source categories such as SCI, EI, CSSCI, CSCD, or 北大核心. It uses the old kns.cnki.net/kns/AdvSearch interface because that form contains the source-category filters.

The agent opens the page with mcp__chrome-devtools__navigate_page, then runs one asynchronous evaluate_script. The script fills the form, submits the search, waits for results, and returns the result count, page marker, and URL. A visible CNKI captcha stops the search, so the page needs a manual check before continuing.

What it helps with

  • search CNKI by author and subject
  • filter papers by journal
  • set a publication date range
  • limit results to SCI or CSSCI sources
  • return the result count and results URL

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search CNKI for papers about “machine learning” within the requested date range, limited to CSSCI, and report the result count.
  • Run an advanced CNKI search for author “Ivan Ivanov” and journal “Journal Name”.
  • Search two keyword groups in CNKI, connect them with AND, and return the results URL.
