What cli-anything-rms does

The skill hands the agent a working command line for Teltonika RMS. It lists routers, gateways and IoT devices, reads their configs, alerts, location history and logs. Everything goes through the RMS REST API.

One CLI covers the API: devices, companies, users, tags, alerts, configs, remote-access, logs, location, credits, files, reports, hotspots, passwords, smtp, plus auth and config. Filters are the usual --status online, --tag, --limit, --offset. The CLI itself installs with pip from the rms/agent-harness subdirectory.

The API token has to be there before anything runs: set RMS_API_TOKEN or run cli-anything-rms config set api_token <token>, then confirm with auth test. Skip that and every call fails, so it is the first thing to check. Change a device password with --password-stdin to keep it out of shell history. Put --json before the command group when the agent needs parseable output, and run the binary with no arguments for interactive mode.

What it helps with

  • pull a list of online devices filtered by tag
  • see what is wrong with one router from its alerts
  • build a report from a template and take the result
  • open a remote-access session to a device
  • rotate a device password without leaking it into shell history

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show me the online devices: cli-anything-rms devices list --status online
  • Grab the alerts for <device_id> as JSON and explain what is going on with it: cli-anything-rms --json alerts list --device <device_id>
  • Create a report from template <template_id> and show me what the API returned: cli-anything-rms reports create --template <template_id>
