capso-screenshot-macos — Claude Code skill: Capso packages in your app
A skill about Capso, the open-source macOS app for capturing screens and recording video. It helps you embed Capso's SPM packages in your own project.
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill capso-screenshot-macos -a claude-codeWhat capso-screenshot-macos does
Capso is a native macOS app for screenshots and screen recording, written in Swift 6.0 with SwiftUI and targeting macOS 15.0+. Its modular layout is the draw for developers: eight separate SPM packages, each embeddable on its own.
The skill walks through the project architecture, building from source, and the package APIs. CaptureKit handles area, window and fullscreen capture. RecordingKit covers audio, format and quality settings. CameraKit adds a webcam overlay, AnnotationKit gives you shapes, text and undo, and OCRKit wraps the Vision framework. Code samples come with each.
Building from source needs Xcode 16+, macOS 15.0+ and XcodeGen — without it xcodegen generate fails and the project never opens. The pre-built app installs through Homebrew or a signed DMG.
What it helps with
- wire screen capture into a macOS app
- record video with system audio
- pull text off a screenshot with Vision
- draw arrows and boxes over a capture
- build Capso from source and learn its package layout
