bd-instrumentation — Claude Code skill: setup
This skill guides bitdrift Capture SDK setup for mobile apps and adds instrumentation for logs, network activity, screens, fields, and spans.
npx skills add bitdriftlabs/bd-skills --skill bd-instrumentation -a claude-codeWhat bd-instrumentation does
The skill identifies Android, iOS, or React Native from project files, checks whether the bitdrift Capture SDK is already present, and chooses the matching setup path. For a new integration, it adds the dependency and Logger.start(), then applies the instrumentation categories the user requests, such as log forwarding, network monitoring, screen views, TTI, fields, or spans.
It uses bd-docs for current API details and reads the relevant reference file: references/android.md, references/ios.md, or references/react-native.md. It can also review an integration and report PASS/FAIL/WARNING results for SDK setup, lifecycle timing, sessions, network and screen tracking, crash links, identity fields, and symbol mapping uploads.
When a monorepo contains files for several platforms, the target must be selected before the setup starts. That choice changes which reference and SDK checks apply.
What it helps with
- install the Capture SDK in an Android app
- configure bitdrift in an iOS project
- instrument a React Native application
- check network and screen tracking
- audit SDK initialization and symbol uploads
Example prompts for the agent
- Check this project for an existing bitdrift Capture SDK installation and configure the detected mobile platform.
- Set up bitdrift in this React Native app, then add screen tracking, network monitoring, and TTI instrumentation.
- Validate the bitdrift integration and return PASS/FAIL/WARNING results with concrete fixes.
