animation-micro-interaction-pack — Claude Code skill: UI motion

A set of reusable motion patterns for interfaces: hover effects, entrances and exits, gesture feedback. Useful when a UI feels static and you want it to move without hand-tuning timings.

What animation-micro-interaction-pack does

The skill lays out repeatable animation patterns: hover with lift, glow and color shifts, entrances via fade-in, slide-in and zoom-in, exits, loading states like pulse and skeleton waves, plus click and drag feedback. Lists get stagger so items appear one after another.

Inside are tailwind.config.js examples with fade-in, slide-up and scale-in keyframes, and Framer Motion snippets using initial, animate and transition. The agent takes these as a starting point and drops them into your component.

The practical half is guidance: keep micro-interactions at 200–300ms, animate transform and opacity, add easing, and respect prefers-reduced-motion. That last one matters — skip it and your animations hurt people with vestibular disorders. Works across Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.

What it helps with

  • add hover and active states to a button
  • stagger card entrances in a list
  • set up keyframes in tailwind.config.js
  • show a skeleton instead of a spinner while loading
  • disable motion under prefers-reduced-motion

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a hover effect with lift and glow to the product card
  • Stagger the list items in with Framer Motion
  • Check that every animation respects prefers-reduced-motion

# Animation & Micro-interaction Pack

Create polished, performant animations and micro-interactions.

## Animation Patterns

**Hover Effects**: Scale, lift (translateY), glow (box-shadow), color shifts
**Entrance**: Fade-in, slide-in, zoom-in with stagger for lists
**Exit**: Fade-out, slide-out, scale-out
**Loading**: Pulse, skeleton waves, progress bars
**Gestures**: Ripple on click, drag feedback, swipe indicators

## Tailwind Animations

```css
/* tailwind.config.js */
animation: {
  'fade-in': 'fadeIn 0.5s ease-out',
  'slide-up': 'slideUp 0.3s ease-out',
  'scale-in': 'scaleIn 0.2s ease-out',
}
```

## Framer Motion Examples

```tsx
<motion.div
  initial={{ opacity: 0, y: 20 }}
  animate={{ opacity: 1, y: 0 }}
  transition={{ duration: 0.3 }}
/>
```

## Best Practices

Use 200-300ms for micro-interactions, respect prefers-reduced-motion, animate transform/opacity for performance, add easing functions, stagger list items, provide hover/active states.
