amazon-competitor-monitoring — Claude Code skill for Amazon
A skill that gathers competitor data on Amazon: prices, stock, new launches, reviews and ad signals. Builds the report from the agent's web search.
npx skills add nexscope-ai/Amazon-Skills --skill amazon-competitor-monitoring -a claude-codeWhat amazon-competitor-monitoring does
The skill runs competitor research by ASIN. It pulls current prices, Buy Box, Best Seller Rank, ratings and review counts, watches review velocity and looks for signs of ad campaigns. It covers 12 Amazon marketplaces: US, UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, JP, CA, AU, IN, MX, BR.
The process is laid out in steps. web_search finds category products and keyword leaders, web_fetch captures baseline metrics for each ASIN, then a separate search digs into price history, launches and complaints in reviews. The output is a report with pricing, inventory and performance tables, a list of market opportunities and suggested alert thresholds.
No API key required, and no live push notifications either. The skill relies on public pages and search results, so it can't pull real-time pricing APIs or historical BSR, and the alerts it suggests are thresholds for you to check, not automatic triggers. For real notifications you'd need the author's paid service.
What it helps with
- compare competitor prices and Buy Box in a category
- spot a market gap while a competitor is out of stock
- catch new product launches in your niche
- read review velocity and find competitor weaknesses
- build a BSR and review benchmark before launch
Example prompts for the agent
- Monitor competitor ASIN B08XYZ123 on Amazon US and show price changes over 30 days
- Analyze competitor pricing strategy for ASIN B09ABC456 over the last 90 days
- Compare my product B0DEF789 against top 3 competitors: pricing, reviews, and BSR performance

## Workflow
### Step 1: Identify Competitors
Use `web_search` to find competitor products:
1. Search `"[product category]" site:amazon.com` — identify top products by relevance
2. Search `"[your main keyword]" amazon best sellers` — find category leaders
3. Extract ASINs, current prices, ratings, and BSR data from search results
### Step 2: Baseline Data Collection
For each competitor ASIN, use `web_fetch` to gather current state:
- Product title and current price
- Best Seller Rank and category position
- Customer rating and review count
- Availability status (in stock/low stock/out of stock)
- Prime eligibility and shipping options
### Step 3: Historical Context Research
Use `web_search` to understand competitor patterns:
1. Search `"[ASIN] price history discount"` — find pricing pattern information
2. Search `"[brand] new product launch amazon"` — detect launch patterns
3. Search `"[ASIN] reviews complaints issues"` — identify competitor weaknesses
### Step 4: Competitive Analysis Report
Synthesize findings into actionable insights following the output format below.
