performance-optimization · akillness — Claude Code skill: setup and usage
Turns profiler traces, load tests, and query plans into a targeted tuning brief. Pinpoints a single bottleneck and verifies fixes with before-and-after data.
npx skills add akillness/jeo-skills --skill performance-optimization -a claude-codeWhat performance-optimization does
Instead of spewing generic web or database advice, this skill forces the agent to inspect the data you already have. It takes raw artifacts like browser traces, slow query plans, flame graphs, or Core Web Vitals reports. Then it frames the exact symptom, platform environment, and target metric, such as p95 latency or frame budgets.
The workflow runs through structured stages. It captures the issue, inspects the packet, isolates a single bottleneck, and recommends at most two targeted adjustments. The skill operates using Read, Grep, Glob, Bash, and Write. Engine-specific traces from Unity, Unreal, or Godot get routed to dedicated game tooling.
This skill does not configure observability dashboards or debug broken program logic. Without an evidence artifact, it will request missing measurements rather than guessing blind optimizations.
What it helps with
- Identify API latency bottlenecks from APM traces
- Diagnose inefficient query execution plans and index misses
- Trace Core Web Vitals regressions and bundle size spikes
- Design before-and-after verification steps for hot paths
Example prompts for the agent
- Review this EXPLAIN ANALYZE output and pinpoint why the filtered search is lagging.
- Here is our WebPageTest report; determine what blocks LCP on mobile.
- Our p95 response time jumped after the update, isolate the cause from this flame graph.

Questions about performance-optimization
How to install performance-optimization in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add akillness/jeo-skills --skill performance-optimization -a claude-code. The skill file is placed at ~/.claude/skills/performance-optimization/SKILL.md.
What does performance-optimization do?
It normalizes performance complaints into an actionable tuning brief, isolating one bottleneck from measurement data instead of guessing fixes.
Which tasks should be routed away from this skill?
Setting up monitoring dashboards, debugging broken program logic, and generic code refactoring belong to separate workflows rather than this skill.
