ads-optimize — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Reviews paid-ad data, drafts changes, and applies them only after conditions are checked. Use it for budgets, bids, CPA, ROAS, and search-term decisions.
npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-ads --skill ads-optimize -a claude-codeWhat ads-optimize does
The skill loads the latest normalized snapshot, prior decisions, monitoring results, experiment state, conversion lag, economics, and the platform capability manifest. It then compares no change, an experiment, and a campaign mutation while accounting for learning, policy, tracking, inventory, and opportunity cost.
It defaults to --draft and produces ranked recommendations with confidence and success measures. Approved recommendations pass through the main mutation gate; an action is applied only when that operation is enabled and remote state still matches the draft precondition. This means the underlying account data deserves a check before changes go live.
The skill refuses permanent deletion of campaigns, ad groups, ads, audiences, conversions, and other account objects. It can instead suggest pausing, archiving, labels, a backup, or a later review date. Search-term actions require a search terms report, business-relevance evidence, and an overblocking review.
What it helps with
- reallocate campaign budget from available evidence
- compare an experiment with a bid change
- prepare a reversible pause plan for ads
- review search terms before negative-keyword action
- verify conditions before applying account mutations
Example prompts for the agent
- Prepare
--draftrecommendations to improve campaign CPA and ROAS. - Compare no change, an experiment, and a budget mutation for the current campaign data.
- Review the search terms report and propose action only where the required evidence is present.

Questions about ads-optimize
How do I install ads-optimize in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-ads --skill ads-optimize -a claude-code, then run npx skills add AgriciDaniel/claude-ads --skill ads-optimize -a claude-code again. The skill file is at ~/.claude/skills/ads-optimize/SKILL.md.
What does ads-optimize do?
It reviews campaign evidence and creates ranked recommendations for budgets, bids, experiments, and related actions. It uses --draft by default rather than applying changes immediately.
Can ads-optimize permanently delete a campaign?
No. Permanent deletion is outside its mutation contract; it suggests reversible options such as pausing or archiving instead.

--- name: ads-optimize description: "Diagnose and draft or explicitly apply paid-ad optimizations using evidence, financial constraints, experiments, and capability-gated adapters. Use for campaign optimization, budget reallocation, bid changes, pausing or archiving ads, requests to delete campaigns, search-term or negative-keyword actions, creative rotation, or improving CPA and ROAS." --- # Paid Media Optimization Default to `--draft`. 1. Load the latest normalized snapshot, prior decisions, monitoring results, experiment state, conversion lag, economics, and platform capability manifest. 2. Identify the decision and causal evidence; do not optimize a metric in isolation. 3. Compare no-change, experiment, and mutation options, including learning, policy, tracking, inventory, and opportunity-cost effects. 4. Produce ranked recommendations with confidence and success measures. 5. Convert approved recommendations into mutation plans only through the main mutation gate. 6. Apply, verify, audit, and retain rollback only when the exact operation is enabled and remote state still matches the draft precondition. Never use a fixed CPA multiple, budget ratio, benchmark, or novelty claim as sole authorization to change an account. ## Destructive-action boundary Refuse permanent deletion of campaigns, ad groups, ads, audiences, conversions, or other account objects. Permanent deletion is outside the supported mutation contract and cannot be made safe by confirmation. Offer reversible alternatives: leave objects paused, archive where supported, apply labels, export a backup, and define a retention or later-review date. Do not create or apply a delete plan. Search-term actions require a search terms report, business-relevance evidence, and an overblocking review. Without them, request the missing evidence and do not invent or illustrate specific negative keywords.
