Connects Codex to Supabase projects via an MCP server. It lets you run PostgreSQL queries, edit schemas, and deploy edge functions directly in chat.
Open on GitHubWhat supabase does
This plugin connects Codex environments to Supabase projects. It communicates via an MCP server at https://supabase.com/mcp. Through this connection, the agent executes PostgreSQL queries and applies schema migrations. Deploying serverless edge functions is supported as well.
The bundle includes agent skills from supabase/agent-skills, such as postgres-best-practices. Live logs are available for troubleshooting. Codex can also manage development branches through natural language prompts.
The plugin relies on the remote https://supabase.com/mcp endpoint and will not function offline. Building the repository locally requires fetching embedded Git submodules first.
What it helps with
- run SQL queries on PostgreSQL databases
- generate and apply database migrations
- deploy serverless edge functions
- inspect live project logs for debugging
- switch and manage database development branches
Example prompts for the agent
- Create and apply a migration for a new profiles table in Supabase
- Run an SQL query to inspect indexes on the active database
- Check live logs for the authentication edge function
