rug-agentic-workflow — GitHub Copilot plugin: how to install
This GitHub Copilot plugin sets up a three-agent system with an orchestrator, a software engineer, and a QA specialist to handle feature delivery from planning to verification.
copilot plugin install rug-agentic-workflow@awesome-copilotWhat rug-agentic-workflow does
The plugin coordinates software delivery using three distinct roles. At the center is rug-orchestrator, which splits requests into individual steps and assigns them to subagents. It reviews the results and repeats the cycle until the entire task is complete.
Implementation work goes to swe-subagent. This subagent builds features, fixes bugs, refactors code, and runs tests. Quality checks belong to qa-subagent, which creates test plans, hunts for edge cases, and verifies implementation quality.
Because rug-orchestrator delegates every task, it does not write code directly. You will need Copilot CLI to install and run the plugin.
What it helps with
- break down complex development tasks using an orchestrator
- hand off feature development and refactoring to an engineering agent
- build test plans and catch edge-case bugs with a dedicated QA agent
- verify code implementation before final delivery
Example prompts for the agent
- Use
rug-orchestratorto plan and execute the new export feature - Have
swe-subagentrefactor the database connector and write tests - Ask
qa-subagentto look for edge cases in the user signup logic
