mcp-apps — Claude Code plugin: skills for building MCP Apps
A set of skills that help you scaffold an MCP App or add a UI to an existing MCP tool from inside Claude.
/plugin install mcp-apps@claude-plugins-official
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
/plugin install mcp-apps@claude-community
/plugin install mcp-apps-plugin@claude-community
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-officialWhat mcp-apps does
The plugin ships skills for working with the MCP Apps SDK. One path is starting from scratch: you ask for an MCP App and the agent lays out the scaffold. Another is adding a UI to a tool you already have, so it gets an interactive view.
A separate skill handles migration from the OpenAI Apps SDK. It ports code that relies on window.openai over to MCP, which matters if the app already exists and you want to keep the same behaviour.
You trigger the skills with plain chat requests, not slash commands. The plugin targets Claude specifically, so it won't do anything in other editors.
What it helps with
- scaffold an MCP App from a description
- add a UI to an existing MCP tool
