gws-events-renew — Claude Code command: renew Google Workspace Events subscriptions
Renews or reactivates Google Workspace Events subscriptions so they stop expiring under you. Handy when a listener or script depends on a subscription that is about to lapse.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --command google-workspace/gws-events-renewWhat gws-events-renew does
The command wraps gws events +renew from the Google Workspace CLI. Pass --name with something like subscriptions/SUB_ID to bring one subscription back. Pass --all to refresh everything expiring inside the --within window, which defaults to 1h; 30m and 2d work too.
The skill behind it works in four steps: confirm gws --version and gws auth status, look up the method with gws schema, assemble the flags, then read errors and retry transient failures. It also points at ../gws-shared/SKILL.md for auth, global flags and security rules. Missing that file? gws generate-skills creates it.
Nothing runs until the CLI is installed and authenticated, so verify gws auth status first. Subscriptions die without periodic renewal, which is why the source suggests pairing --all with a cron job.
What it helps with
- renew a Workspace Events subscription before it lapses
- reactivate one subscription by its name
- refresh every subscription expiring soon
- schedule recurring renewal from cron
- check the method schema and required parameters before calling
