What xlsx does
This skill handles .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .csv, and .tsv files. It can add columns, formulas, formatting, or charts, repair malformed tabular data, build a workbook from other data, and convert between tabular formats. The expected result is a spreadsheet file.
It uses openpyxl for workbook edits and creation, pandas for bulk input or export, and markitdown for a sheet preview. Formula workbooks need a recalculation run with python scripts/recalc.py output.xlsx; that invokes LibreOffice and reports formula errors. For formulas, the skill favors functions such as SUMIFS, INDEX, MATCH, IFERROR, and SUMPRODUCT.
When editing an existing workbook, it follows the file's formatting conventions and leaves existing formulas in place. Install it if you ask an agent to deliver spreadsheet files; skip it for an HTML report, Word document, or Google Sheets API work.
