What pptx does
The skill is triggered for slide decks, presentations, and .pptx or .potx files. It covers text extraction, changes to existing slides, splitting or combining files, plus templates, speaker notes, and comments.
For a new deck, it uses a pptxgenjs script. markitdown deck.pptx reads slide text, while python scripts/thumbnail.py deck.pptx produces a labeled slide grid. Editing an existing deck or template uses unpacked presentation files, slide XML changes, and repacking.
The package includes python scripts/office/validate.py deck.pptx for file checks and a LibreOffice wrapper for PDF conversion. Its guidance covers pptxgenjs pitfalls around colors, charts, shadows, and notes. Install it if Claude Code regularly handles slides; it is unnecessary for plain text documents.
