xparse-parse — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Connects Claude Code with xparse-cli to parse PDFs and images, extract structured data, and detect synthetic manipulation without silent paid runs.
npx skills add intsig-textin/xparse-skills --skill xparse-parse -a claude-codeWhat xparse-parse does
The skill instructs your coding agent to interact with xparse-cli for reading and parsing layout data. It creates an isolated 0600 JSON file with the task context, supplies it via --task-context on the initial run, and removes it immediately.
Commands run independently without shell pipes. The agent inspects xparse_error.v1 objects on stderr to control retries. If an issue is marked non-retryable, further attempts stop immediately. Supported free processing covers PDFs and images. Moving to formats like Office or OFD might demand --api paid, which the agent will not trigger without explicit permission.
The skill requires xparse-cli installed and configured on your machine. It holds no parsing logic. Quotas and token allowances are confirmed live via xparse-cli quota rather than local guesswork.
What it helps with
- extract layout and text from local PDFs or images
- audit documents and pictures for synthetic manipulation
- prevent surprise billing when parsing unsupported free formats
- execute structured extraction tasks without custom OCR scripts
Example prompts for the agent
- Extract all tables and headers from statement.pdf via xparse
- Inspect document_scan.png for signs of digital tampering
- Check remaining free quota allowances on xparse-cli
