woocommerce-copy-guidelines — Claude Code skill: WooCommerce UI copy
A skill that sets the rules for user-facing text in WooCommerce: button labels, field names, messages and docs. Useful when more than one person writes the storefront strings.
npx skills add secondsky/claude-skills --skill woocommerce-copy-guidelines -a claude-codeWhat woocommerce-copy-guidelines does
The skill covers the text a shopper actually reads: button labels, form field names, system messages, help content. The main rule is sentence case instead of title case. On top of that come short phrasing, plain words and staying consistent with copy patterns WooCommerce already uses.
Inside there is a single SKILL.md with the principles, plus a link to sentence-case.md for the capitalisation rules. No scripts, no external dependencies — the agent reads the instructions and applies them while editing interface strings.
It pays off where strings go into translation or email templates, because mixed capitalisation is expensive to clean up later. On a project that is not WooCommerce the rules still carry over, though the references to WooCommerce's own wording will not help you much.
What it helps with
- get button labels into one capitalisation style
- write an error message for the checkout form
- review field labels before sending them to translation
- keep wording consistent across several developers
- proofread a plugin's user documentation
Example prompts for the agent
- rewrite this form's copy following woocommerce-copy-guidelines
- check the button labels in my template against woocommerce-copy-guidelines
- write a cart page error message using woocommerce-copy-guidelines
