What transitions-dev does

The skill ships 32 portable CSS transitions. Each one lives under its own t-* selector and uses semantic CSS custom properties. The workflow is paste-and-wire: drop the snippet in, hook up the documented HTML, done. No framework dependencies and no demo-specific markup.

Inside are per-transition reference files: card resize, number pop-in, notification badge, text and icon swaps, an origin-aware dropdown, modal open and close, panel reveal, page side-by-side, success check, avatar group hover, error shake, input clear with dissolve, skeleton reveal, shimmer text, sliding tabs, tooltip, staggered text reveal, 3D card tilt, plus-to-menu morph, accordion, toast, like button, checkbox check, spinning counter, toggle, thinking states, reasoning stream, streaming text, matrix dot loader, banner stacking, text morph, soft text swap and a donut chart. Every snippet carries a prefers-reduced-motion guard.

The license covers personal and commercial use, but you cannot redistribute the library itself. The skill also exposes the commands transitions reveal, transitions review, transitions apply and transitions refine — they scan a project for ad-hoc transitions and swap hardcoded durations for motion tokens.

What it helps with

  • open a modal smoothly without pulling in an animation library
  • add a skeleton loader and cross-fade to the loaded content
  • shake a form field when validation fails
  • replace hardcoded durations with motion tokens
  • stack toasts so new ones rise in and older ones push back

Example prompts for the agent

  • Animate the dropdown so it grows out of its trigger
  • Add a staggered blurred rise to the stacked text lines
  • Scan for ad-hoc transitions and replace hardcoded durations with motion tokens
