specsfy-aux-rules — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Formulates and records lasting project rules in .specsfy/RULES.md. It asks clarifying questions and avoids modifying or removing existing guidelines.
npx skills add promovaweb/specsfy --skill specsfy-aux-rules -a claude-codeWhat specsfy-aux-rules does
This skill manages the .specsfy/RULES.md file by turning recurring conventions into documented rules. It reads PROJECT.md alongside existing instructions to separate declared rules from assumptions. If a rule needs clarification, it uses numbered questions defined in .specsfy/Spec.md. Every rule must have an action verb and clear boundaries.
Validated entries are saved using node scripts/add_rule.mjs --project <raiz> --section "<tema>" --rule "<regra confirmada>". This helper preserves section ordering and earlier guidelines. If a newly proposed instruction contradicts an older one, the skill flags the issue instead of silently picking a winner.
Running $specsfy-setup in the project root is mandatory before execution, and any pending setup issue blocks the workflow immediately. The skill forbids storing secrets or personal data in RULES.md, and it must not serve as a replacement for AGENTS.md or acceptance criteria.
What it helps with
- document recurring team conventions in
.specsfy/RULES.md - spot contradictions between new instructions and older rules
- phrase verifiable project instructions via structured questions
- insert confirmed guidelines into sections with
scripts/add_rule.mjs
Example prompts for the agent
- Turn our module structure convention into a formal rule in RULES.md
- Review these instructions for conflicts with our existing project rules
