sapui5 — Claude Code skill for SAP UI5 development
A skill that helps AI agents build SAP UI5 apps: XML views, controllers, data binding, OData, Fiori Elements and tests.
npx skills add secondsky/sap-skills --skill sapui5 -a claude-codeWhat sapui5 does
The skill covers the whole SAP UI5 workflow: freestyle apps, Fiori Elements, custom controls, routing, JSON and OData model binding (v2 and v4), QUnit and OPA5 tests, mock servers. Security (XSS, CSP), performance and accessibility get their own sections. There is also material on sap.ui.mdc controls and TypeScript control libraries.
Inside are 15 reference files plus templates for a quick start: Component.js, manifest.json, an XML view, a controller, a formatter. The skill hooks into the official @ui5/mcp-server and exposes 9 MCP tools, 4 specialized subagents and 5 slash commands: /ui5-scaffold, /ui5-api, /ui5-lint, /ui5-version, /ui5-mcp-tools. Everything still works without MCP, using the reference files and built-in templates.
The verified framework version is 1.148.1, with a baseline of 1.120.0 and above. On an older UI5 release some reference examples and APIs will not match your code, so check the version before letting the agent touch manifest.json. The license is GPL-3.0, which is worth checking against your project's own license.
What it helps with
- scaffold a freestyle UI5 app with UI5 Tooling
- wire an OData v4 binding in
manifest.json - write an OPA5 integration test
- set up routing between XML views
- look up the right control in the API reference
Example prompts for the agent
- scaffold a UI5 app with an XML view and a controller
- connect an OData v4 model and set up the binding in manifest.json
- write an OPA5 integration test for the product list
