review-claudemd — Claude Code skill: review history and install
This skill examines recent chats and suggests changes to global and project-level CLAUDE.md files. Use it to spot repeated instruction failures and stale rules.
npx skills add ykdojo/claude-code-tips --skill review-claudemd -a claude-codeWhat review-claudemd does
The skill gathers recent chat logs from ~/.claude/projects/, skips the current conversation, and gives batches to subagents alongside the global and local CLAUDE.md. The agents look for rules that were broken, project-specific or general guidance to add, and entries that may be out of date. Their findings are grouped into a summary, with a prompt asking whether you want draft edits.
Shell commands and jq extract the logs into a temporary directory. The review relies on access to the conversation files and both CLAUDE.md files. The documented extraction process will fail if jq is unavailable.
What it helps with

CLAUDE.mdrules that conversations repeatedly break - identify project-specific guidance for the local file
