pua-loop — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
This skill runs iterative verification loops with explicit commands and stop conditions. Use it when an agent must check its work before finishing.
npx skills add tanweai/pua --skill pua-loop -a claude-codeWhat pua-loop does
pua-loop is a Codex CLI alias for the Claude Code /pua:loop command. It loads the pua-loop protocol and sets up or runs an iterative verification loop, where the agent follows explicit verification commands and stops at a defined condition. Invoke it with $pua-loop.
The skill is available for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. When it changes ~/.pua/config.json, unknown fields must remain intact, and ~/.pua/ must be created when needed. That gives the reader a concrete check: completion claims should be backed by command output.
What it helps with
- run a repeated verification cycle
- define explicit commands for checking results
- set a condition that stops the loop
- preserve unknown fields in
~/.pua/config.json - verify completion with command output
Example prompts for the agent
- `$pua-loop` Set up a verification loop for the current task with explicit commands and a stop condition.
- `$pua-loop` Run the iterative checks and show each command's output before you finish.
- `$pua-loop` Review the changes, preserve unknown fields in `~/.pua/config.json`, and provide command evidence before claiming completion.

How do I install pua-loop in Claude Code?
Run these steps in order: npx skills add tanweai/pua --skill pua-loop -a claude-code, then run npx skills add tanweai/pua --skill pua-loop -a claude-code again. The skill file is at ~/.claude/skills/pua-loop/SKILL.md.
What does pua-loop do?
It runs the pua-loop protocol as an iterative verification cycle with explicit commands and stop conditions. Invoke the alias with $pua-loop.
What happens to `~/.pua/config.json`?
When the alias changes the file, it preserves unknown fields and creates ~/.pua/ when needed. Completion claims require command output as evidence.
