plain-language-letters — Claude Code skill: what it does
Deprecated migration skill from claude-for-legal. In the v2 rebuild, it was split into separate workflows for routine letters and case status updates.
npx skills add anthropics/claude-for-legal --skill plain-language-letters -a claude-codeWhat plain-language-letters does
This skill is kept in the anthropics/claude-for-legal repository strictly as a migration redirect after the v2 rebuild. It has user-invocable: false set in its frontmatter, so the agent will not trigger it directly as a standalone action.
The original workflow was split into two focused skills. Routine correspondence, including appointment confirmations and document requests, moved to skills/client-letter/ via /client-letter [type]. Substantive updates for clients are handled by /status client from skills/status/.
Both replacement skills enforce plain-language standards from CLAUDE.md, removing jargon and controlling reading levels. Keeping this redirect in your project is useful only for backward compatibility with older configurations.
What it helps with
- navigate the skill structure after the v2 rebuild
- find the replacement command for routine client correspondence
- switch to
/status clientfor substantive case updates - keep backward compatibility for legacy workflows
Example prompts for the agent
- /client-letter appointment
- /status client
- Draft a routine update using /client-letter
