pitch-packager — Claude Code skill: build a pitch doc
Turns a finished piece of work — spec, prototype, implementation notes — into one document a reviewer can read and approve in a single pass.
npx skills add Neeeophytee/finding-unknowns-skills --skill pitch-packager -a claude-codeWhat pitch-packager does
The skill assembles your artifacts into one document ordered for a skeptic. The demo comes first: a GIF or screenshot if user-facing behavior changed. Then the problem and the bet, capped at two paragraphs. Next is the core — the 3–5 hard questions an expert in the domain would raise (edge cases, scale, failure modes, migration) with honest answers, including where something is not handled and why that is acceptable for now. Deviations from plan follow, lifted from the implementation notes, then a scope fence listing what is not in the change so the review stays contained.
Keep it to one page; the spec, notes and diff go out as links rather than inline. The medium matches the venue — a Slack-pasteable doc, a PR description, or a standalone HTML page — and the skill asks which one if it is unclear. Gather the inputs beforehand: the spec or plan, the prototype or demo, the implementation notes and the diff. A demo recording or screenshots are also needed when user-facing behavior changed, and they lead the document.
The skill does not oversell. A hidden weakness turns one approval into lasting credibility loss, and the guardrails say so outright. If the work is not actually ready, the honest pitch is a status update, and saying that is part of the job. The expert-questions section is the heart: if it is easy to write, the questions are not hard enough.
What it helps with
- turn a spec, notes and diff into one review document
- pre-answer the questions a reviewer will probe
- lead with a demo before the prose piles up
- fence the scope so the review does not sprawl
- write an honest status update when the work is not ready
Example prompts for the agent
- Package this spec and the implementation notes into a pitch doc, I'll link the diff
- Write the PR description so a reviewer sees what changed and what is out of scope
- Build a one-page Slack doc: demo, problem, expert questions

--- name: pitch-packager description: Package a finished piece of work (spec, prototype, implementation notes) into a single document that gets reviewers to understanding and approval fast. Use when the user needs buy-in, a review, or a shareable summary of what was built and why. --- # Pitch packager Reviewers start with the same unknowns the builder started with, plus one more: whether the builder accounted for the failure points an expert would probe. A good pitch doc kills both in one read. ## Steps 1. Collect the artifacts: the spec or plan, the prototype or demo, the implementation notes, and the diff. Ask for a demo recording or screenshots if any user-facing behavior changed — lead with that. 2. Structure the document in reading order for a skeptic: - **The demo** — what it looks like working, first. A GIF or screenshot beats prose. - **The problem and the bet** — two paragraphs max: what this solves and the approach chosen over the alternatives. - **What an expert would ask** — the 3-5 hard questions a reviewer in this domain would raise (edge cases, scale, failure modes, migration), each answered honestly, including "not handled, here's why that's acceptable for now." - **Deviations from plan** — lifted straight from implementation-notes, because surprises found in review cost trust. - **What's NOT in this change** — scope fences, so the review doesn't sprawl. 3. Keep it one page. Link out to the spec, notes, and diff rather than inlining them. 4. Match the medium to the venue: a Slack-pasteable doc, a PR description, or a standalone HTML page — ask which if unclear. ## Guardrails - Never oversell: a pitch that hides a known weakness converts one approval into a permanent credibility loss. - The "what an expert would ask" section is the heart. If it's easy to write, the questions aren't hard enough. - If the work isn't actually ready, the honest pitch is a status update, and saying so is part of this skill.
