What firecrawl-scrape does

The skill runs scripts/mcp/firecrawl_scrape.py with uv run python -m runtime.harness. Pass a page URL and, if needed, choose markdown, html, or text as the output format. Markdown is used when no format is supplied. To search instead of scraping a specific page, provide a query with --search.

A firecrawl server must be configured in mcp_config.json, with FIRECRAWL_API_KEY available. Without that server setup, the script cannot fetch page content. The extracted result can be used to inspect a page or retrieve structured data from it.

What it helps with

  • extract a web page as Markdown
  • retrieve page content as HTML or plain text
  • search the web and collect matching content
  • pull structured data from a web page

Example prompts for the agent

  • Fetch https://docs.python.org/3/library/asyncio.html as Markdown.
  • Search for Python asyncio best practices and collect the page content.
  • Get this page as HTML: https://example.com.
