design · ohad6k — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Applies Emulo taste profiles to guide UI, UX, and visual hierarchy tasks. Use it when redesigning screens or requesting frontend design critique.
npx skills add ohad6k/emulo --skill design -a claude-codeWhat design does
The skill injects personal design taste and frontend judgment into coding agents. It activates for interface reviews, visual hierarchy adjustments, reference evaluation, and redesign tasks. The instructions explicitly disallow using it for unrelated execution or standalone marketing copy.
Under the hood, the skill locates emulo.py two directories above or at the repo root and executes python "$EMULO_PY" plugin profile-path --domain design. It parses the returned paths to read both the core working profile and the dedicated design profile.
If the command exits nonzero, loading stops immediately. The agent outputs the recovery instruction and avoids applying personal context. The skill strictly forbids substituting a generic designer persona when the design domain is inactive.
What it helps with
- critique UI layout and visual hierarchy
- redesign frontend components against Emulo taste
- retrieve core and design profiles via
emulo.py - review user experience decisions in code
Example prompts for the agent
- Critique the visual hierarchy of our dashboard layout using Emulo design taste
- Redesign this navigation bar according to our UX profile
- Review our checkout screen and flag interface styling issues

Questions about design
How to install design in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add ohad6k/emulo --skill design -a claude-code. The file is saved to ~/.claude/skills/design/SKILL.md.
What does the design skill do?
It provides Emulo taste guidance for frontend UI, UX, visual hierarchy, and interface redesigns. It is not intended for standalone code execution or marketing copy.
What happens if emulo.py fails?
If python "$EMULO_PY" plugin profile-path --domain design returns a nonzero exit code, the skill stops loading personal context and outputs recovery instructions. It does not fall back to a generic design persona.

--- name: design description: Use for UI, UX, visual hierarchy, frontend-design judgment, references, redesigns, and design critique when the user's Emulo taste should guide the task. Do not use for unrelated execution or marketing/social writing alone. --- # Emulo design 1. Locate `emulo.py` two directories above this skill; fall back to `./emulo.py` only for a direct repo checkout. 2. Store the resolved absolute runtime path as `EMULO_PY`, then run `python "$EMULO_PY" plugin profile-path --domain design`. 3. If it exits nonzero, give its exact recovery or targeted-deepen instruction and stop loading personal context. 4. Read every returned path completely. The first is the core working profile; the second is the design profile. Apply both. 5. Never substitute a generic design persona when the design domain is inactive.
