What odoo-18 does

The skill acts as a master index pointing to targeted guides in the references/ directory. It triggers whenever the agent works with **/*.{py,xml,csv,js,ts,css,scss} files or encounters Odoo tracebacks and manifest files.

Guides cover specific areas including __manifest__.py setup, HTTP controllers, QWeb reports, data migrations, and query performance to eliminate N+1 issues. The repository notes that you should check references/api-highlights.md before generating code. That review step flags deprecated methods that will break in Odoo 18 runtime.

What it helps with

  • fix XML view and kanban errors in Odoo 18 addons
  • configure access control lists and record rules
  • implement computed fields with @api decorators
  • optimize slow ORM queries and resolve N+1 bottlenecks

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a computed field using @api.depends to an Odoo 18 model
  • Review this __manifest__.py file and fix dependency issues
  • Create an OWL component and register it in the web client assets

Questions about odoo-18

How to install odoo-18 in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add unclecatvn/agent-skills --skill odoo-18 -a claude-code in your terminal.

What does the odoo-18 skill do?

It supplies reference docs for Odoo 18 development, helping agents generate valid code for ORM models, OWL client widgets, QWeb templates, and access rules.

What pre-check does the skill require before writing code?

It directs the agent to check references/api-highlights.md to spot and avoid patterns that are invalid in Odoo 18.

Use this skill whenever work involves Odoo 18 or custom addons—even if the user only pastes a traceback,
mentions addons/ or __manifest__.py, describes form/list/kanban/XML errors, HTTP controllers, or
business rules on models—including building features, fixing bugs, refactoring, or reviewing addon code.
Includes CSS/SCSS asset authoring and review for Odoo addons.

## Coding Conventions

Before writing code, run the `odoo-workflow` skill if it is installed (trace the real
source, Context Brief with `file:line`, definition of done); install it alongside this pack.

Read `references/api-highlights.md` before writing code and apply its Quick review
checks: the ❌ items are what not to use in Odoo 18.

Apply the convention section in the guide you open. Odoo 18 runtime behavior,
then existing stable-addon style, takes precedence; keep diffs focused.

- Module naming, assets, JavaScript, CSS, and SCSS: development guide.
- XML formatting and IDs: data, actions, reports, security, and views guides.
- Python, recordsets, transactions, and translations: model, field, decorator,
  performance, transaction, and translation guides.
