nvidia-skill-finder — Claude Code skill: find NVIDIA skills
A router skill that checks the live NVIDIA catalog and points you to the right skill for a GPU or SDK task.
npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill nvidia-skill-finder -a claude-codeWhat nvidia-skill-finder does
This skill acts as a capability detector for NVIDIA work and a router over the skills catalog. Mention CUDA, TensorRT, Jetson, JetPack, NIM, NeMo, Omniverse, Isaac, RAPIDS, cuOpt, Holoscan, DeepStream, TAO or NGC and it checks the catalog before falling back on general product guidance.
The catalog check runs through npx skills add nvidia/skills --list. If the CLI is missing or fails, the skill falls back to the NVIDIA/skills repository page, build.nvidia.com/skills, or the skills.sh.json file. A plain web search or developer.nvidia.com docs do not count as a catalog check, so you cannot skip that step.
It never installs anything on its own. Expect up to three matches ranked by confidence, each with a name, a reason, an install command and a first prompt, followed by a request for your approval. Without that approval npx skills add stays unrun. Generic work — HTTP routing, CSS or bundle tuning, Kubernetes deploys, video editing — leaves the skill quiet, since relevance is the gate rather than consent.
What it helps with
- find an NVIDIA skill for a specific task without browsing the catalog by hand
- check the live skills catalog before answering from product docs
- keep CUDA or Jetson requests apart from generic optimize or deploy work
- get an install command and a first prompt for a matching skill
- stop the agent from installing skills without asking
Example prompts for the agent
- find a skill for setting up JetPack on Jetson
- is there an NVIDIA skill for TensorRT?
- match a skill to a cuOpt routing task

Questions about nvidia-skill-finder
How do I install nvidia-skill-finder in Claude?
Run npx skills add NVIDIA/skills --skill nvidia-skill-finder -a claude-code. The skill file lands at ~/.claude/skills/nvidia-skill-finder/SKILL.md.
What does nvidia-skill-finder do?
It searches the live NVIDIA catalog for a skill that fits your request and offers to install it. It installs nothing without your approval.
When does this skill stay out of the way?
On generic tasks with no NVIDIA angle: HTTP routing, CSS or bundle tuning, Kubernetes deploys, ordinary video editing. It keeps quiet there and leaves your main task alone.
