netsuite-suitescript-records-reference — Claude Code skill
Reference data covering 272 NetSuite record types and fields for SuiteScript. Validates internal IDs, data types, and search filters before writing code.
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-suitescript-records-reference -a claude-codeWhat netsuite-suitescript-records-reference does
This skill equips your coding agent with schema data from references/records.json. It covers 272 NetSuite record types. The agent checks exact field IDs and data types when writing N/record operations. This prevents errors in property names.
The reference tracks API capability levels and script support for each entity. Some records have the Search Only flag. When that flag is set, you cannot create or load the record via N/record. It also confirms whether fields accept updates through submitFields().
Be aware that SDF deployment scripts like SDFInstallationScript are absent from records.json. NetSuite configures them through deploy.xml instead of standard records.
What it helps with
- look up field internal IDs and data types across NetSuite records
- verify record permissions for
N/recordcreate, load, or delete calls - find valid search filters and columns for
N/searchqueries - check if a record field supports direct updates with
submitFields()
Example prompts for the agent
- List all required fields and their types for a salesorder record
- Can I update the entity field on a customer using submitFields()?
- Show available N/search filter fields for invoice records
