The skill covers how to build on Shopify: apps with OAuth, checkout and admin extensions, POS extensions, Liquid themes, webhooks, billing, and product, order and customer management. It ships reference guides for app, extension and theme work, and a scripts/shopify_init.py script that scaffolds a project interactively.
GraphQL Admin is the primary API here; REST is described as legacy in maintenance mode. Polaris handles admin UI, Liquid handles storefronts. In practice you install Shopify CLI globally with npm install -g @shopify/cli@latest, then run shopify app init or shopify theme init. Without the CLI nothing in the workflow runs, since every command in the skill goes through it.
There is a section on limits: GraphQL calls are cost-based, and for debugging it suggests watching the X-Shopify-Shop-Api-Call-Limit header and adding exponential backoff. Keep API credentials in environment variables and verify webhook signatures — a public app that skips that check accepts requests from anyone.
