literature-review · lingzhi227 — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Conducts academic literature reviews by simulating multi-persona expert dialogue. Organizes retrieved papers and identifies research gaps for new survey papers.

The skill implements the STORM research workflow to inspect a topic through simulated expert perspectives. It accepts a core subject and an optional subfield focus. Next, it defines three to five specialist personas, each viewing the inquiry from a distinct angle.
During simulated Q&A rounds, the skill drafts queries and calls Python scripts to retrieve papers from Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, and arXiv. Retrieved claims are linked to inline citations. Crucially, execution relies directly on local Python utilities from deep-research and literature-search, which will break the process if missing.
After completing dialogue turns, it synthesizes the collected findings by removing duplicates and clustering insights into themes. The resulting output contains an outline, section summaries, a table of surveyed papers, and identified research gaps.
What it helps with
- search academic papers across Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, and arXiv
- simulate multi-perspective expert discussions on a research problem
- identify unanswered questions and gaps in existing literature
- compile a structured survey outline with per-section summaries and inline citations
Example prompts for the agent
- Use literature-review to evaluate quantum computing applied to portfolio optimization
- literature-review: review graph neural network papers focusing on model scalability
- Run literature-review on multi-agent consensus mechanisms
