language-learning — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Turns Claude Code into an interactive tutor for foreign languages. It runs conversational roleplay, explains grammar patterns, and quizzes vocabulary.
npx skills add jackjin1997/ClawForge --skill language-learning -a claude-codeWhat language-learning does
The skill adapts the agent into a personal language tutor. Before beginning, it asks for the learner's experience level and target outcome, such as travel prep or professional communication. Practice runs across five distinct modes. These include grammar pattern discovery, interactive roleplays, and flashcard drills.
During conversations, the assistant simulates everyday interactions and inserts gentle inline corrections into the dialogue. Full curriculum progression is not universal across all entries: third-tier dialects cover only introductory survival phrases. Detailed lessons remain reserved for Tier 1 languages like German, Japanese, and Spanish.
What it helps with
- practice conversational dialogue with instant error corrections
- memorize new vocabulary through spaced flashcard drills
- learn grammar structures through contextual sentence patterns
- study non-Latin alphabets and writing systems
Example prompts for the agent
- Let's do a conversation drill in Italian about booking a hotel room
- Explain past tense grammar rules in French using examples
- Start a flashcard vocabulary session for elementary German
