What hand-drawn-diagrams does

This skill instructs the agent to convert text prompts into Excalidraw diagrams. It produces animated SVG files and shareable links for online editing. A PNG export is also supported. The agent triggers the workflow when it detects phrases like sketch diagram or whiteboard diagram.

In the open-design catalog, this entry runs in prototype mode. It advertises the capability during task planning. However, running the full pipeline requires the upstream bundle from muthuishere/hand-drawn-diagrams. Without those upstream files, the toolchain is incomplete.

The skill uses standard agent directories. You can install it into Claude Code or Codex using the skills CLI.

What it helps with

  • create Excalidraw sketches from text prompts
  • export diagrams to animated SVG format
  • generate hosted links for Excalidraw editing
  • render architecture mockups as PNG files

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create a sketch diagram of our microservice architecture
  • Draw a whiteboard diagram for the user registration flow
  • Use hand-drawn-diagrams to build an Excalidraw chart
