grimoire-aave — Claude Code skill: Aave V3 market data
Pulls public Aave V3 market data through the Grimoire CLI: protocol health, chain listings, market and reserve metadata. Handy when an agent needs strategy inputs.
npx skills add franalgaba/grimoire --skill grimoire-aave -a claude-codeWhat grimoire-aave does
The skill wraps grimoire venue aave commands and returns JSON or a table. You get a protocol health check, the list of supported chains, markets on a chain, a single market, a single reserve, and reserves with filters by market or asset. The reserves-snapshot command builds a params: block for a spell; it is meant for agents, and interactive mode suppresses its output.
Run grimoire venue doctor --adapter aave --chain 1 --rpc-url <rpc> --json first, as the README advises. No working RPC URL means the network calls fail, so skipping that check costs you time. Four ways to invoke it exist: the installed grimoire, npx -y @grimoirelabs/cli, a repo-local bun run packages/cli/src/index.ts, or the grimoire-aave binary from @grimoirelabs/venues.
Every endpoint is read-only. In automation --format json works better; keep the table for quick manual checks. One caveat: Aave V3 actions in spells do not support runtime constraints such as max_slippage or min_output yet, and the adapter handles approvals and amount conversion for you. Amount format differs by action — supply and borrow take a human-readable value, withdraw and repay take a raw number inside an exact wrapper.
What it helps with
- check Aave protocol health before a trade
- list chains where Aave is deployed
- fetch market metadata by address
- inspect reserves for an asset like USDC
- build a
params:block for a spell from a reserves snapshot
Example prompts for the agent
- Check Aave health with

- Snapshot USDC reserves and build the
params:block for a spell
