ghost-writer — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Creates two distinct first drafts matching personal writing style from a Voice DNA Document. Useful for crafting articles and newsletters.
npx skills add robertguss/claude-code-toolkit --skill ghost-writer -a claude-codeWhat ghost-writer does
The skill produces two structurally different drafts using an input Voice DNA profile. Each version comes with two or three headline candidates. The assistant reviews input research and flags discrepancies between task constraints and tone.
The workflow starts with an intake check. The tool inspects profile readiness, questions missing details, and evaluates whether the style file is older than 6 months. It previews areas of strong or weak style coverage before drafting. It also actively suppresses standard AI writing tells alongside your personal anti-patterns.
A Voice DNA Document from writing-dna-discovery is strictly required. Without it, the skill stops immediately and points you back to the profile discovery stage.
What it helps with
- generate two distinct draft variations matching personal style
- detect and eliminate common AI writing markers
- catch tone mismatches between your voice profile and the current assignment
- propose headline options tuned to documented style
Example prompts for the agent
