firecrawl-monitor — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Watches page, site, or web-search changes and sends email or webhook alerts. Use it when a recurring check should replace repeated one-off scrapes.
npx skills add firecrawl/cli --skill firecrawl-monitor -a claude-codeWhat firecrawl-monitor does
This skill creates monitors for one page, a URL batch, a whole site, or web search. Firecrawl fetches the target, compares it with earlier checks, and labels each page same, new, changed, removed, or error. Web-search monitors require both --queries and --goal.
Alerts can go to email or a webhook. The schedule accepts natural-language text, while firecrawl monitor run starts a check immediately and check lets you filter its pages by status. You can pause a monitor, inspect its checks, and control snapshot retention with --retention-days.
Checks consume credits for the underlying scrape, crawl, or search, with optional judging on top. The minimum schedule interval is 5 minutes, and monitoring is unavailable for zero-data-retention teams. External email recipients must confirm their subscription before receiving alerts, so verify that step before relying on notifications.
What it helps with
- watch a single page for changes
- check several URLs on a schedule
- compare pages discovered across a site crawl
- find new web results that match a goal
- send change alerts by email or webhook
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a monitor for `<url>` and email me when the page content changes.
- Set up a web monitor for `competitor product launch, competitor funding round` and alert me about new matching results.
- Run monitor `<monitorId>` now, then show pages whose status is `changed`.
