firecrawl-interact — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Controls a live browser session on scraped web pages through text instructions or direct code. Useful when pages block simple scrapers with login walls or complex dynamic feeds.
npx skills add firecrawl/cli --skill firecrawl-interact -a claude-codeWhat firecrawl-interact does
The skill sends browser actions via the firecrawl command-line utility. You fetch the page first. After the initial scrape, the tool executes natural language prompts or code to click elements and submit input fields. For granular steps, developers pass browser agent commands directly through the --code flag.
State persistence works through named profiles with --profile. This keeps authentication cookies and localStorage across CLI calls. Subsequent runs immediately access protected dashboards without repeating login forms. Adding --no-save-changes connects to an existing profile in read-only mode.
Every interaction depends on a valid scrape identifier. Without calling firecrawl scrape beforehand, the command fails immediately. Saved browser sessions expire after roughly 10 minutes. If the CLI reports a stale session, scrape the target URL again. Once finished, run firecrawl interact stop to terminate background processes and free system memory.
What it helps with
- bypass login forms and store session cookies
- navigate paginated tables and continuous scroll feeds
- fill out complex web inputs automatically
- extract dynamic pricing data hidden behind user clicks
Example prompts for the agent
- Scrape
https://app.example.com/logininto profileteam, submit credentials and click submit - Scroll down the product list twice to load additional items
- Run
firecrawl interact stopto close the active session
