expansion-kickoff — Claude Code skill: expansion planning
Starts planning for expansion into a new country by collecting intake, framing EOR versus entity, drafting questions, and creating a tracker.
npx skills add anthropics/claude-for-legal --skill expansion-kickoff -a claude-codeWhat expansion-kickoff does
This skill starts an international expansion project for a new country. It collects intake, frames the choice between an EOR and an entity, drafts questions for cross-functional teams, and surfaces country-specific flags.
Before substantive work, it loads CLAUDE.md, which contains the jurisdictional footprint and escalation table, then loads the international-expansion reference skill. On completion, it creates a persistent tracker at ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/employment-legal/expansion-[slug].yaml.
If a tracker for the country already exists, the skill flags it and points to /employment-legal:expansion-update [country], or asks for confirmation to start over. Check that existing file before collecting a second set of inputs.
What it helps with
- collect intake for expansion into a new country
- compare an EOR with creating an entity
- draft questions for cross-functional teams
- surface country-specific legal flags
- create a persistent expansion tracker
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
/employment-legal:expansion-kickoff Germanyto start planning for Germany. - Run
/employment-legal:expansion-kickoffand provide the country when prompted. - Check the existing Germany tracker, then run
/employment-legal:expansion-kickoff Germany.

--- name: expansion-kickoff description: > Kick off international expansion planning for a new country — gathers intake, runs EOR vs. entity framing, drafts cross-functional questions, surfaces country-specific flags, and creates a persistent tracker. Load `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/employment-legal/CLAUDE.md` → jurisdictional footprint, escalation table. 2. Load the `international-expansion` reference skill and run the full workflow. 3. If a tracker file already exists for this country (`~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/employment-legal/expansion-[slug].yaml`), flag it: "An expansion tracker for [country] already exists. Use `/employment-legal:expansion-update [country]` to update it, or confirm you want to start over." 4. Create `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/employment-legal/expansion-[slug].yaml` on completion. ## Examples ``` /employment-legal:expansion-kickoff Germany ``` ``` /employment-legal:expansion-kickoff (skill will ask which country) ``` > Detailed EOR vs. entity framework, cross-functional questions, briefing > templates, and tracker schema live in the `international-expansion` > reference skill — load it before doing substantive work.
