What data-feeds does

data-feeds takes a URL and a dataset name, then requests the matching records from Bright Data’s Web Data API. It waits for the collection job to finish before returning source-specific JSON fields. Available sources include Amazon, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Google services, and other platforms.

The regular entry point is bash scripts/datasets.sh <dataset_type> <url> [additional_params...]. Dataset options cover products, company and person profiles, job listings, social posts, comments, apps, hotels, properties, and more. Custom dataset IDs can use bash scripts/fetch.sh <dataset_id> '<json_input>'.

Set BRIGHTDATA_API_KEY before making a request. Without that key, the Bright Data call cannot be sent. Collection waiting is controlled by BRIGHTDATA_POLLING_TIMEOUT, whose default value is 600.

What it helps with

  • pull product details from a URL
  • return a LinkedIn profile as JSON
  • collect comments from a video
  • search Amazon products by keyword
  • retrieve company or business reviews

Example prompts for the agent

  • Use the linkedin_person_profile dataset to fetch a LinkedIn profile from this URL.
  • Run bash scripts/datasets.sh amazon_product <url> and return the product data.
  • Collect YouTube comments from this URL with youtube_comments and a limit of 20.
