What core-dynamic-skills does

The skill parses Cargo.toml, single crate or workspace, and pulls out the dependency list. Then it compares that list against what already sits in ~/.claude/skills/ and builds a skill for every missing crate: documentation comes from docs.rs, and the result lands as SKILL.md plus per-module files under references/. Everything stays on your machine and is never committed to the rust-skills repository.

Two execution modes. When the agent and command infrastructure is present, generation goes through /create-llms-for-skills and /create-skills-via-llms, with an actionbook MCP check for a ready llms.txt first. Without that infrastructure the skill does the steps by hand: parse the manifest, create directories, fetch page text with agent-browser, and fall back to WebFetch when that fails. Workspace projects get walked member by member, with dependencies aggregated and deduplicated.

Calling it directly is pointless. The skill carries disable-model-invocation: true and expects to be invoked by /sync-crate-skills, /clean-crate-skills or /update-crate-skill. It also runs in a forked context with a general-purpose subagent. Open a directory with no Cargo.toml and the dependency step has nothing to work on.

What it helps with

  • generate skills for every crate in Cargo.toml
  • spot dependencies that have no skill yet
  • pull crate docs from docs.rs into a local skill
  • walk workspace members and deduplicate dependencies
  • remove or regenerate the skill for one crate

Example prompts for the agent

  • /sync-crate-skills
  • /sync-crate-skills --force
  • /update-crate-skill tokio

Questions about core-dynamic-skills

How to install core-dynamic-skills in Claude?
