What company-research does

This skill prepares company research by examining the business model, competitive position, market dynamics and management quality. Its report structure covers the business overview, market analysis, competitive landscape, SWOT analysis and governance.

For competition, it applies Porter's Five Forces and a positioning matrix. It also assesses market size and growth. When office-mcp is available, the skill can use create_docx, create_xlsx and create_chart for documents, spreadsheets and charts.

The skill cannot access proprietary databases or verify information accuracy. It also has no real-time data and does not conduct interviews, so report findings should be checked against primary sources.

What it helps with

  • analyze a company’s business model
  • map competitors and market position
  • assess market size and growth
  • run a SWOT analysis
  • review management and governance

Example prompts for the agent

  • Run a deep due diligence review of [company name] for an investment decision.
  • Assess [company name] against its competitors and prepare a SWOT analysis.
  • Create a brief company report for [company name] covering its business model, market and risks.
