What cli-models does

The cli-models skill exposes the omniroute models subcommands to your agent. Through them you can list available models, narrow the list by provider, search by name, and sort out spelling variants of model names.

Inside is a set of subcommands. models [provider] prints the catalog, with --search <query> and --json to shape the output. models manual <provider> shows manual model metadata. models add <provider> <model-id> adds a model without verification, models edit changes metadata, models remove drops a manual override. Then there is models test-add <model>: it validates an OpenAI-compatible model on one strict connection and adds it after a synthetic tool round-trip. Most commands take --dry-run, and test-add also takes --yes.

The skill runs on top of the omniroute CLI, so the package comes first: npm install -g omniroute or npx omniroute. Without omniroute installed the skill's commands will not run at all. It earns its place if you already keep a model catalog in Anthropic and would rather drive it through the agent than by hand.

What it helps with

  • list available models for a given provider
  • find a model by name or capability with search
  • add an OpenAI-compatible model after validating the connection
  • edit manual model metadata and confirm it persisted
  • remove a manual model override

Example prompts for the agent

  • List the Anthropic model catalog for example-provider
  • Search the catalog for a model by name with --search
  • Validate example-model with omniroute models test-add and --dry-run

## Overview

Query available AI models, list model aliases, and browse the full model catalog from the CLI. Filter by provider, search by capability, and resolve model name variants.

## Quick install

```bash
npm install -g omniroute   # or: npx omniroute
omniroute --version
```

## Subcommands
