ci-cd-patterns — Claude Code skill: GitHub Actions pipelines
A skill with GitHub Actions templates, PR checks and deployment steps. Handy when CI breaks or you are wiring it up from scratch.
npx skills add c0x12c/ai-toolkit --skill ci-cd-patterns -a claude-codeWhat ci-cd-patterns does
The skill hands your agent ready-made GitHub Actions setups: a basic CI workflow, a separate pull request check workflow, and deployment steps. It ships YAML templates, a pre-deploy checklist, and notes on mistakes that bite most often.
There is a PR babysitting routine too. The agent reads check status with gh pr checks <number>, works out whether the failure is a flaky test, a lint error or a broken build, fixes it locally and pushes. Flaky runs get retried with gh run rerun <run-id> --failed. Merge conflicts are handled by rebasing, and auto-merge goes on with gh pr merge <number> --auto --squash. All of this leans on the gh CLI being installed and logged in.
The skill lets the agent read and edit files, search the project and run shell commands, so it can rewrite a workflow and push the change in one go. One rule worth remembering: if the same test gets re-run more than twice, the skill says stop burning runner minutes and fix the test itself. Race conditions and time-dependent assertions are the usual culprits.
What it helps with
- set up lint, test and build checks on every pull request
- find out why CI failed and patch it locally
- re-run only the failed jobs instead of the whole pipeline
- split deployment across dev, staging and prod
- walk a pre-deploy checklist before shipping to production
Example prompts for the agent
- Set up CI in GitHub Actions: lint, tests and build on every pull request
- Check the status of PR #42 and fix whatever is failing
- Re-run the failed jobs in the latest workflow run
