deslop · brianlovin — Claude Code skill: strip AI slop from your branch
A skill that diffs your branch against main and removes the comments, defensive checks and any-casts an AI left behind.
npx skills add brianlovin/agent-config --skill deslop -a claude-codeWhat deslop does
The skill reads the diff against main and clears out what the generator added: comments a human would not write, defensive checks and try/catch blocks that do not belong in that part of the codebase, especially when the call comes from a path that is already trusted. Casts to any used to dodge type errors go too, along with any style that clashes with the rest of the file.
It ships as a plain skill — drop SKILL.md into your platform's skills directory and run it after the code is written. The agent edits the branch and closes with a one-to-three sentence summary of what changed.
Everything is measured against main. If your default branch has another name, the diff is not the one you expect, so check that first.
What it helps with
- strip comments the model added to every line
- drop defensive checks on already-validated data
- remove try/catch wrapped around safe calls
- replace any-casts with real types
- match new code to the file's existing style
Example prompts for the agent
- clean the AI slop out of this branch before review
- run deslop on the diff and drop the extra comments and checks
- compare against main and fix anything that breaks the file's style

Run npx skills add brianlovin/agent-config --skill deslop -a claude-code. The skill lands in ~/.claude/skills/deslop/SKILL.md.
What does deslop do?
It diffs the current branch against main and removes generated leftovers: extra comments, unusual defensive checks, any-casts and off-style code. It ends with a short summary of the edits.
What is the branch compared against?
main. If your default branch is named differently, the skill looks at the wrong diff — verify the name before running it.
