What graphify does

This skill directs the assistant to query and maintain a persistent code knowledge graph through the terminal. The agent uses actual CLI calls such as graphify update and graphify summary instead of re-reading raw files repeatedly. A common pitfall is trying to run graphify build, which does not exist. Initial index generation runs strictly through graphify update ..

Output files land in the .graphify/ folder, producing graph.json alongside GRAPH_REPORT.md. Creating the visual file graph.html requires a separate command: graphify export html. The model tracks component dependencies, runs graph queries with token budgets, and inspects execution flows affected by code edits.

Working with this skill requires Python 3.10+ and the graphifyy package from PyPI. Without the graphify executable present on your PATH, every terminal operation will fail immediately.

What it helps with

  • Generate a persistent codebase graph inside .graphify/
  • Trace the shortest path between two architectural nodes using graphify path
  • Export an interactive graph.html diagram for visual inspection
  • Map affected execution flows and assess risk before diff reviews

Example prompts for the agent

  • Build the repository graph using graphify update . and show a summary of key hubs.
  • Find the shortest path between AuthMiddleware and UserSession using graphify.
  • Export our codebase graph to HTML and summarize GRAPH_REPORT.md.

Questions about graphify

How do I install graphify in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add akillness/jeo-skills --skill graphify -a claude-code. This installs the skill file directly to ~/.claude/skills/graphify/SKILL.md.

What does graphify do?

It instructs the AI assistant to navigate repository architecture via the graphify terminal tool. This maintains a persistent graph in .graphify/ so the model avoids re-scanning files during structural audits.

Which Python package is required for graphify?

Install graphifyy from PyPI, spelled with two y's. The tool requires Python 3.10+, and the resulting binary in your terminal is called graphify.
