agentwallet — Claude Code skill: agent wallets and x402 payments
This skill gives an AI agent a server-side wallet that pays x402 and MPP endpoints, signs transactions remotely and keeps spending inside a policy.
npx skills add frames-engineering/skills --skill agentwallet -a claude-codeWhat agentwallet does
A wallet is provisioned after email OTP verification. From then on the agent reads ~/.agentwallet/config.json, takes the apiToken and uses it for every call. Signing happens server-side, so private keys never sit in your repo.
The main job is paying for metered APIs. Rather than handling a 402 response by hand, the skill points the agent at the /x402/fetch endpoint: it sends the target URL and body, and the server detects the payment request, signs it and retries the call. dryRun shows the cost before anything is charged. preferredChain and preferredToken pick between EVM and Solana networks and the USDC, USDT and CASH tokens. MPP has its own endpoint.
Spending is gated by policy. An amount over the limit or a frozen wallet returns a denial instead of a charge. Keep the token in session memory, out of logs and out of URL query strings — if it leaks, rotate it through the connect flow.
What it helps with
- pay a metered API from inside an agent without signing by hand
- preview the cost of a request with
dryRun - pick a chain and token that match the available balance
- provision a server wallet after email verification
- cap agent spending with policy checks and a wallet freeze
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect agentwallet: ask me for my email and walk me through the OTP
- Call the paid API through
/x402/fetchand tell me what it charged - Check my balance and show my referral rewards
